Method :
1. Crush the cinnamon, cloves and cardamoms lightly.
2. Heat the ghee in a vessel and fry the chopped onions for a few minutes. Add the crushed spices and
bay leaves and fry for a few seconds.
3. Add the rice, masoor dal, potatoes, french beans, green peas, green chillies, turmeric powder, garlic
and ginger.
4. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
5. Add 5 cups of hot water and salt. Cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until the vegetables are soft
and the rice is cooked.
6. Serve hot.

- 50 mm (2") stick cinnamon (dalchini)
- 4 cloves (laung / lavang)
- 3 cardamoms (elaichi)
- 2 bayleaf (tejpatta)

- 2 cups potato cubes
- 10 to 12 french beans , cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup green peas

- 25 mm. (1") piece ginger , grated
- 1 tbsp ghee
- salt to taste
